Celebrating its 21st anniversary in 2025, the Barcelona Festival of Song is a premier summer program designed for classical singers, collaborative pianists, and musicologists. The program focuses on the history and interpretation of Latin American and Iberian art song, offering an in-depth exploration of repertoire in Spanish, Portuguese, and Catalan. Through expert guidance and immersive experiences, participants deepen their understanding of these rich vocal traditions while connecting with a vibrant community of musicians and scholars.

Every year, the Barcelona Festival of Song (BFOS) welcomes a select group of classical singers from around the world to immerse themselves in the rich art song repertoire in Spanish, Catalan, and Portuguese. Many participants are voice teachers seeking to expand their musical horizons and acquire the tools needed to effectively teach this diverse repertoire at their home institutions. The program provides an unparalleled opportunity to deepen expertise in Latin American and Iberian art song, fostering growth and connection within the global classical music community.

Since its inception in 2005, the Barcelona Festival of Song has annually commissioned new song cycles from some of the most renowned composers and poets of Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. This tradition fosters the creation of innovative works that enrich the Latin American and Iberian art song repertoire, ensuring its continued growth and relevance in the world of classical music.
